Shifting Shapes

I was visiting with my friends yesterday. Loads of fun! I love my friends. My friend Chrissy and I are working on getting our pre-baby bodies back together. As of now, I weigh as much as I did when I got pregnant. Chrissy and I now weigh the same. I was admiring the jeans she had on yesterday, exclaiming "how good" she looked. This is the good part...

She told me what size they are! How can we be built the same, weigh the same, be the same height and she can fit into that size and I can't???? She insisted that I try them on. I protested. Insisting it was an impossibility. She won that fight. I did try them on and they DID fit! They actually fit great! Very comfortable. HOW CAN THIS BE? Here is what I deduced.

Pre-Pregnancy
I worked out at the gym 5 days a week for 1 1/2 hrs.
Walked everywhere.
Ate really well.
Weighed______(you really don't need to know that)

Post-Pregnancy
I haven't gone to the gym in at least 3mos.
I pretty much drive everywhere, except to the neighbors.
Eat too much fast food
(It's hard to cook for just Lizzy and I, besides, we are out alot. DON'T JUDGE ME!)
Weigh ______ (the same)

I understand that muscle weighs more than fat. It's safe to assume that I had much more muscle before I got prego than I do now. Since I was toned, that means that I was trimmer.

How can it be that I wear a SMALLER size than I did before I got pregnant?!?!?!?!
At first, I thought, "Oh well, this was just tagged wrong. Still feels good though..." Today I went to the store to prove my theory. I tried on the same size from yesterday, several pairs of jeans. THEY FIT! WHAT? And it's not like I had a gut hanging over or anything!

Have our sizes really changed that much in just 2 years? I understand that sizes change and get bigger over time. (My mom has been the same size since she got married 37 years ago! I think she looks great, but she insists that she weighs more than she did when she got married.) But seriously! In just 2 years we had that big of a jump?

Don't get me wrong. I am thrilled with what the label says! Great confidence booster! Or maybe I really am that small. Chrissy looks so tiny I have a hard time believing that I could be that small.

Either way, To the designers and manufacturers and Chrissy, I say "Thank you. Thank you for making me feel like I look like the chick in this picture."

Wonderful Weekend

This last weekend our good friends Chuck and Camber got sealed together as a family! It was such a beautiful event! The family looked incredible. The feelings we had while we watched were amazing (for the lack of a better word). I don't think there was a dry eye in the room. Just amazing. That's the best description I can think of.

As for the reception. So fun! I got to see friends and acquaintances that I haven't seen in years! I made the cake. It looked ok, but tasted GREAT! That's more important than looks if you ask me. It was a white cake with raspberry filling on 1 layer and the other 2 layers were strawberry. All covered in a butter cream frosting. Yummmmm...I didn't do the floral arrangements. Thank goodness we had those. Totally made the cake look WAY better!

For those who haven't heard.

Twilight is now going to be released into theaters on November 21st! WOO HOO! And now Harry Potter won't be released until next June. My thought is that they didn't want to compete with Twilight. Just messing. Also, there is a small chance that I will get to see the movie before any of you will! How is this possible you ask? Well, let's just say I have connections in high places. Mafia? Maybe. Corrupt Gov't officials? Maybe. Gangsters? Maybe. A friend who works at a movie theater? Maybe. But really, YAY! for November 21st!

WHAT?!?!?!

Seriously, I was thinking I was cooler than Snow White. I was thinking someone like Belle or Jasmin. ARGH! Really? Who that stink would eat an apple from some creepy looking old women they had never met before?

You Are Snow White!

Pure and trusting. You are a gentle soul who can get along with just about anyone. Everyone you meet instantly falls in love with you. How can they resist? You have a pure, lovable nature that's irresistable. Just don't trust everyone who comes across your path.

Amazes Me

Everyday Lizzy does something that completely amazes me. She was eating her dinner and she wanted her juice. I didn't know where she put it, so I asked her. Lizzy kept pointing into the living room. I looked and looked and couldn't see it. She then asked to "get down?" (so cute when she says it. It's usually like this. "Felicia? get down?") I let her down from her chair then she walked into the living room and over to her bike. Sitting on the seat of her bike was her juice! Seriously, amazing!

I think it's funny how she realized that I wasn't going to be able to help her so she got it herself! Smart kid. Speaking of smarts. I've read that at 18 months they should speak 3-50 words and put together 2 word sentences. Lizzy's vocabulary is HUGE! I started writing down all the words I hear her say and I stopped counting when I got over 100! Isn't that amazing? Really, that girl is going to pass me up any day now it seems.

I made another wall filler today. (I don't think it counts as art. This one is kinda ghetto) This time for Lizzy's room. She had 1 big empty wall. I (kinda) filled it! It's just a collection of some of my favorite pics on cute girly flower paper. I think if there is a next time, I'll use stripped paper so you don't' see all the seams.

Here is a cute video for you to enjoy. I love how she says, "I don't know." Sorry about the crappy quality.

Like it?

Cora gave me a great idea for some wall art for my bedroom. I've never been able to find anything I liked. So, she said "why don't you get some scrapbook paper and frame it?" Brilliant! I went to Target and bought a $6 mirror and then to Roberts to buy 4 sheets of paper which were $0.69 each and glue dots for $2.99. (I also had a 30% coupon for 1 item.)

This is what I made for $10 and some change. (I will have to replace 1 piece of the paper. Lizzy thought it would be fun to rip it.)

What's extra awesome about this it that for $2 I can give it an entirely different look! Cool eh? I will need to get different bedding so I can coordinate them, but I was going to get new bedding anyway. Maybe I'll make something! I am feeling crafty. :o)

Bed Risers: Part deux

I know I've been singing my praises for those things, but I just don't think you grasp how great they truly are! I did decide to put some under Lizzy's crib.
(September, I did think about her falling out. But my need for storage beat out over my kids safety. *I'm an AWFUL mom!* But really, it's only 5.25 inches higher and she's one tough cookie. I think she takes after me. Now, in my defense, I think that her bed might be normal crib height now. It was so short before that I couldn't put her bed skirt on it. I can now! It's wrinkly because I just got it out of a box. )

Anyways, this is what her bed looks like now.

You'd never be able to guess that I have...

3 office depot paper boxes
My duffel of hockey stuff
1 duffel of Dave's clothes

under there! (again color coordinated.)
I love those bed risers. You can pick them up at Walmart for $7.96. They come in 2 colors, black and white.

It's finally happend

Our little girl knows how to go from fully clothed to fully nude! I was just checking my email when Lizzy walked up to me looking like this:

Which quickly turned into full nakedness.

It was so funny! After I took the first picture she went back to playing. No more than a minute and a half went by and she came up to me and said "bum bum" and tried to hand me her diaper with a giant grin on her face! It was the funniest thing EVER! It guess I startled her a bit when I laughed because she ran onto the couch screaming "NO! NO! NO!" like she does when there is a bug around her.

So, so funny. A great way to start the day.

Small Apartment? Need more storage space?

If you answered "Yes!" To either of these questions, then I have the product for YOU!

Bed Risers!

OK, seriously. I have a small apartment with small closets. And we have alot of stuff. Not junk, but stuff that we use or need. (I know. I did some serious de-cluttering with every move(6x in 5 years. Thanks to military life)Anyways...I bought some for my new apt. I LOVE THEM!!! You wouldn't even believe how much stuff you can fit under your bed! Here is what I have under mine...

2 stuffed full big green Army duffel bags
1 big hockey duffel full of equipment
1 aluminum framed hiking/camping back pack
1 hiking pack full of clothes
2 empty back packs
1-10 person tent with all the fixings that come with it
1 pair of roller blades

( I color coordinated the words to the actual color of the item.)
Isn't that AWESOME?! My room is now neat and organized. Everything has it's place. I love it.

Really though. You should go out and pick some up. I might get some for Lizzy's crib. Good place for food storage? I think so.
